Bye Bye Teeth

Based on Isaac’s genes, the dentist suggested we visit the orthodontist’s office for a consultation. Isaac was really hoping for braces! He was definitely not listening to the wise as we have warned of the pain. Fortunately, the orthodontist suggested waiting on braces for a few more years. However, he did suggest removing some roadblocks (6 teeth). This phase is less expensive! So, last week, Isaac visited the dentist =)

Bigger Than Costco

Overall, our garden has done quite well this year. The missionaries helped us get the soil ready and transplant some strawberries. Our boysenberries took them over, so they had to be moved.

We had tons of boysenberries and lots of strawberries….

Our trees that  looked so bare… (pay attention to the little one next to the yellow slide)DSC07747

We beat the squirrels this year, and thus had lots of peaches, apricots, plums and nectarines earlier in the season.

We even had a few…

Our zucchini hasn’t taken off yet (probably due to flooding early in the season), but we have tomatoes, green and purple grapes, basil, watermelon, cantaloupe, sun flowers, left over green onions, surprise purple beans, and dragon beans!

Tonight, we picked the last fruit off our tree….

However, I think one apple is from Costco…It is so much bigger!

I think there is a line in some movie or somewhere that goes… ‘How about them apples?” Not sure where it is from…. but that is one mighty big apple!

It’s Autumn Time

I normally love to sing that song! Over and over again. The colors in New England =) and in my front yard (Thank you, Warren!)The smells of apple pie, pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg… The cooler evenings. The anticipation of the holidays! My birthday and General Conference. I could go on…

This year, however, I am in no hurry for the fall season to come. I don’t know why. I am enjoying the season right now. I did not enjoy seeing Christmas in July in Michaels and Hobby Lobby! I have not enjoyed seeing the Halloween decorations out at Costco! (Now you know where I shop.)

With Warren working at a bakery, the next holiday is always around the corner, or in the next really cold freezer! Last night he brought home……

I have to say that it was a little tasty, but too dry for my likings =( More Pumpkin was definitely needed! The topping was GREAT, but it was only on the top. Hopefully as the time passes, I will be more excited about the autumn season. Maybe if I took a trip to the east coast in October….=)

Birthday!

We got to celebrate Elder Pyne’s Birthday with him!. We love him a lot, but even more because he wanted apple pie instead of cake =)

Our other favorite Elder right now is Elder Patch. Bekah really loves him because he shares her same birthday! (more on that later as I catch up).

Family Home Evening Pictionary

So, we played Pictionary a couple weeks ago for our lesson/activity. It was a lot of fun. However, we had NO IDEA what Bekah was drawing. we kept making silly guesses, but in the end, we were so confused we couldn’t stop laughing because those silly guesses were better than nothing  =) Finally, she wrote the answer on her picture. Love the spelling =)

So, Wicked King Noah is sitting on his throne. Abinadi is locked in the dungeon. The picture is too far away to see that there is a door with a window. Only his head is in the window, BUT she drew his body too. The one behind the door =) She started drawing something weird above everyone’s heads. I said they were ring pops! I told you we were silly. Anyway, one guy was sad (the one under the big red scribble looking thing) because he didn’t have any ring pops, oh I mean bags of money.
