This year, he turned 6!

If you look closely, you will notice he had an airplane cake both years! This boy loves airplanes!! Well, anything that flies high in the sky and makes lots of noise and goes really fast! He has lost his two bottom teeth, earned a yellow belt in martial arts, reads over a hundred sight words, loves math, has tried to repel down the side of the stairs using plastic links, loves to wear overalls, has a fish named Dash, loves to go super fast, willing to protect anyone that needs protecting (even the girls in at church, very funny story), is extremely hard to get mad at because he loves kisses and hugs and smiling and every night says, “Have good dreams.”

We are so blessed to have him in our lives! We are also grateful that Heavenly Father sent him to us when we were more mature and patient =)

Isaac Grows Up

Our little boy (well, he started out over 10 pounds, so he never was that little) has had a couple of birthdays. The latest one marked him at the age of 12!

He is now an inch and a half short of 5 feet, has hit the big three digits in weight, and wears the same size shoe as his mother! In school, he enjoys reading (Brandon Sanderson books)  and vocabulary words (hyperpolysyllabicsesquipedalianist) . In sports, he loves playing anything and has just earned his blue belt in martial arts. Musically, he is very talented! He does very well on the piano and is getting close to being able to join the College Band on the French Horn! In scouts, he has achieved First Class rank and needs one more merit badge and 5 more weeks of playing the piano for his youth group to advance in rank to Star Scout! In church, Isaac now has the Aaronic Priesthood and holds the office of Deacon. He passes the sacrament every week and was set apart as the 1st counselor in the Deacon’s Quorum today! His favorite book in the Book of Mormon is the Book of Ether! Well, the first half of it because it is a big WAR!!!!

Exchange Students

Japan has been the country of our students this last year =) Our knowledge of Japan has increased. We now know that their school year begins in April, they have a melting pot of foods (like America), they drive about 40 mph in the FAST lane, they don’t like to look bad so they appear shy, they watch a lot of television on Sundays,…

We did lots of fun activities, so I will list some of them: Joshua Tree camping and rock climbing, Rose Parade viewing, Sea World, In-n-Out, Hollywood tour, Cub Scout volunteering, shopping, horseback riding, cooking, light saber duels, card games, ….

Birthdays and Life!

Catching up with the growth of your children is impossible! Last year, we didn’t document any birthdays on our blog =( Our pictures are still in off camera folders from 2013… yikes! So, yes we are alive and enjoying every minute of it =) Lots of great things have happened, so be prepared for many a posts =)

BYU Volleyball

Warren took Isaac and Bekah to their first College Sport’s Event, Men’s Volleyball! Isaac has recently taken an interest in the sport =) We learned about the game from our friends who couldn’t come =( It turned out to be a great game! Apparently, in volleyball, the win goes to the team that wins 3 out of 5. BYU won with a sweep! They won the first 3 games, so the last 2 weren’t even played!

Here are Isaac and Bekah ready to support those Cougars!

Not Prepared for….

DSC01210

It is way too early for plum blossoms! We all need to pray for rain! I was saying snow, but if any farm land gets snow now, we will loose all our food for this summer and next fall. California simply needs LOTS of rain… too late for snow =(

Loquerisne Lātinē?

Isaac is not fond of cooties. I gave him cootie spray, but he still isn’t interested in them at all! Girl cooties are even worse. A while back I told him that when he started attending dances, he should take the opportunity to dance with every girl from around the stake so no girl ever feels left out. Just now he informed me that when he goes to the dances he is only going to speak to them in Latin, just to freak them out! I don’t think my suggestion sunk in =)

Our Inspiring Artist

Bekah taught our lesson tonight on The First Vision. Of course she had an illustration to go with it =)

Here is an close up so you can see the shine around our Savior and Heavenly Father.

My favorite is Joseph Smith. I know we aren’t supposed to laugh, but I can’t help it! With all that said, it is better than I can do!
