Big Brainz' Timez Attack

Big Brainz' Timez Attack: "The Ultimate Multiplication Tables Video Game"

Our friends, the Petersen's, introduced this great online game to us! You can play for free or buy an upgraded version. Even if you only play the free version, you can learn all your multiplication facts up to 12. When we downloaded the free version, Isaac was given the option of choosing the Dungeon or the Castle. He has mastered the 2's in the Castle. He is now doing the 3's in the Dungeon. He loves the ogres and the green slim they put on you! I love how funny the ogre looks when he scratches =) I am pretty sure we will buy the upgraded version so the children can visit the Lava, Jungle, Tower, ROBOTS, and a few more! Thank you Petersen's!!!!!!

German Traditions Alive at the Lehndorfer’s

Magdalena continues to spoil us with wonderful treats! For Bekah’s first day of school, Magdalena sent her a first day of school “Schultüte". http://foreignlanguagefun.com/2008/08/a-german-back-to-school-tradition-schultute/

Bekah couldn’t have been more excited!

First Day of School

Last Wednesday was our first day of school! Our children are now attending Mount Everest Academy. This year they will be studying Folklore Around the World at Hogwarts. Wednesday, they traveled on the Hogwarts Express for about 7 hours. During this time, they picked up their pets (Isaac an owl and Bekah a Hello Kitty) and grandparents. Upon arriving at Hogwarts, they were sorted (Isaac into Gryffindor and Bekah into Ravenclaw) and then had a FEAST! Isaac is already planning the next feast. Most people work on academics the first day… we eat!

35 minutes... can we beat it?

So... the last week of June/first week of July, my friend convinced me to go running with her. So a funny fast walk we went and I (Tori) almost died! I got a horrible blister on my Achilles tendon, I slept during the day or just sat because I ached ALL over. I told her 3 days a week was plenty.
Well, Wednesday morning with her 13 year old galloping ahead of us, we ran our 3 miles in 35 minutes! WOW! I was happy. Today on the other hand, it was hotter and since we don't run on Thursdays, I was feeling a bit sluggish. I even walked a short portion.... 33 minutes! Yippee =)
Happy Labor Day
