Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was our busy day this year. In the morning we were glad to see we still had some snow from the blizzard the week before.

Off we went to Grandma and Grandpa Lehndorfers house. For the first time in years we actually had a fire in the fireplace. A staple when Daddy was growing up. Isaac loved playing the Nintendo and Rebekah warmed up to Chewy (the dog) rather quickly.

Grandma Linda made all the grandkids beautiful scarves.

Isaac was elated with his new WALL-E toys.

P1030738

Rebekah also loved hers but appeared to be slightly more excited.

P1030748

We all rotated one seat to make Mommy laugh.

P1030767

Not much left of our snowman. Just the buttons, arms and nose.

P1030769

Then we went back home for Christmas Eve at our home with Tori’s family. Unfortunately, Angi and her family stayed home because they thought they might get stuck due to another storm.

Rebekah didn’t want to keep waiting to open the presents.

Bama was all smiles with her granddaughters.

Papa tried to get the kids to smile and sit still but to no avail.

What a surprise. A baby for Rebekah.

It was a wonderful day. The children loved every bit of it. This makes for a very good schedule. We visit the families on Christmas Eve and have Christmas Day at home.

Isaac’s Kindergarten Christmas Concert

Isaac and his kindergarten class had a Christmas concert back on 12/10. They did very well. The best part was when Isaac was the only student on the stage not dancing with the 9 ladies dancing. He said boys don’t dance.

No he’s not the one picking his nose. Isaac has the red Santa Claus tie on.

High Quality Modern Art

Since he started Kindergarten Isaac has become much more of an artist. He loves to draw. Consequently, Rebekah loves to do it also. Isaac already complains that Rebekah wants to do everything he is doing. Ironically, he is often just like her. Here are two recent drawings they did.

Here is Isaac’s.

That’s a picture of WALL-E in the middle surrounded by aliens.

And Rebekah’s.

Rebekah's Drawing Dec 2008

Truly a masterpiece. No seriously, it’s better than most modern art. At least you can tell that it’s supposed to be a person.

Isaac was bored

When Isaac woke up  this morning he crawled out of bed and flopped on the couch. A few minutes later he finally said something: I am bored. That is not the right thing to say to Mommy. She doesn’t allow that kind of talk. So she told him to write something. Isaac said we don’t write on the Sabbath. So Mommy told him to write a list of things he can do on the Sabbath. He said he could only write his testimony. So here is what he wrote.

Isaac's Testimony on Dec 28, 2008

We are very proud of him. By the way, Daddy was stuck at work when this happened so I hope I got the story right.

SNOW!!!

We finally got some snow. Everyone was ecstatic. Here are some pictures. It has been snowing for at least 4 hours now and doesn’t look like it is going to slow down. School was cut to a minimum day so hopefully Mommy can come home early. Maybe I won’t be able to go to work again. (I missed Monday because the pass was closed due to snow).

This is what we saw when we woke up and started eating breakfast.

Rebekah’s Drawing

Isaac and Rebekah love having this in the house. Here is what Rebekah drew today.

Funny Rebekah

Rebekah is a crack up. This morning I went in and turned the lights on to wake up the kids. I said “It’s raining” and Isaac just grunted and didn’t move a muscle. Rebekah slowly sat up a bit with her head bowed. She say there for several seconds and then put her left hand over her left ear and put her right ear back down on the pillow. Then, that not working she put the pillow over her head. It was downright hilarious.

St. Nick

We had our annual St. Nick holiday this past weekend. It was a great deal of fun. We all were very surprised to see Dad actually fully engaged and even stir the frosting for the cookies. All the children were there and everyone was in a jolly mood. Here is a link to the pictures that can be downloaded for printing.

Sleeping

This one is for Kiley. We all love it when our children are asleep. Tori and I always are taking pictures of the children when they are asleep. They really are too cute while they are sleeping.

Have Fun!!!

It Begins . . . Christmas

We started decorating on Saturday (11/29). We dug out all the tubs and started putting it all up. This is our favorite time of the year. This is just a start.

Thanksgiving

Not sure how we managed to get through Thanksgiving with no pictures but here is a project we made.

Four Layer Cake

We are not sure what prompted this but Tori and the kids decided to make a four layer cake. It was fabulous.

Tori’s Birthday

She thinks nobody is interested in her birthday but we are. She is the best wife and mother in the world. We would be lost without her. Warren isn’t very good at putting a good birthday together for her but we try.

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Halloween

Halloween was great fun. We had a number of parties. The best was at Bama and Papa’s house. One of the activities was two teams trying to find the pieces of a skeleton and build it. You should have seen Tori running. There are a lot of pictures so you would be better off following this link to view the slideshow.

Our Beautiful Fall Colors

This was the goal. The colors were beautiful. It turned an even deeper red but we didn’t get a picture. The tree just needs to continue to grow.

P1020796

Things look good for next year. There appears to be a lot of new growth just waiting for the Spring. The new growth is short, stubby and red.

Harvesting our Garden

We finally went out and picked the rest of our garden delicacies. We dug out the potatoes, carrots, green onions, picked a lot of green beans and our apples. The potatoes and carrots were quite funny looking.

P1020805

P1020571

The apples were pretty good. We are getting better at figuring out what works up here. The soil seems strange, what works for some people in our ward (carrots and squash) doesn’t seem to work very well in our yard.

We plan on rearranging it next year to try for better results. The trees seem to be doing very well though. They should be very fruitful next year.

Here’s a full slideshow of the year (113 pictures).

Soccer

The season has ended so the photo gallery on our photo website has been updated. There is a link below. He had a lot of fun and received a wonderful trophy. He had a blast. He still wants to be the fullback or goalie. Whenever his team gets the ball, or the other team for that matter, he runs back towards his own goal to stop them. He definitely improved as the season progressed. He loves it and looks forward to next year.
