Yesterday, Daddy made a pie for the treat for family home evening and Mommy put it in the fridge. However, one key thing was forgotten; Mommy didn’t shut the fridge door. Soooo, Benjamin crawled up to the open fridge as quickly as he could, stood himself up, and began to help himself. It was all over his hands and face before anyone knew it.

HO HO HO
Christmas this year was absolutely wonderful. This is what it is supposed to be like. Home all day in our pajamas, lots of food and treats, memorable family time, and beautiful weather. Lots of peanut brittle for everyone Tori could think of and great food and gifts from Magdalena and many other friends and family. What a wonderful time of year. Here are a few of our pictures.
Isn’t he adorable!
Isaac couldn’t sit still. I guess we shouldn’t be surprised since he is a 6 year old boy and it was Christmas. :)
Papa and Daddy helped Isaac put together his new Darth Vader Space Ship Lego set.
A classic Christmas gift for Daddy from Bama. (It’s broomstick fuel and is part of an old inside joke. I’ll relate it another day.)
Mommy was given a funnel cake kit.

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve was very enjoyable this year. We went to Warren’s parents house in the morning to visit with family, stopped by the Trout's to say hi, went to Tori’s sisters house in the evening and finished the night at home. It was very calm and relaxing and was a wonderful day with family and friends.
Isaac played Christmas music everywhere we went.
Rebekah took quite a liking to Grandpa Karl, perhaps that was because he was passing out the presents.
The whole family at Cyndee’s house.
Andy was a great tank for Isaac.
Benjamin's favorite toy the whole day was an empty water bottle.
The were too excited to go to bed. Here they are in their new jammies.

Jack-O-Lanterns
We carved our pumpkins tonight for Halloween. The kids always love this time of year. Isaac has been wearing his costume off and on for a while now. He even took Mommy on a practice walk around the neighborhood (at 6 am). Tori helped Rebekah with Lumpy and I helped Isaac with Darth Vader.
Lumpy looks like an elephant even when he is lit up. On the other hand, Darth Vader is barely discernable either way.
Isaac couldn’t handle not dressing up and putting the pumpkins out immediately.

Isaac’s New Room
Isaac wanted a space room really bad so we finally allowed him to paint his new room like space. He moved to the room at the end of the hall and we went all out. Here are some pictures. He absolutely loves it.
Here is the solar system he painted himself. All nine planets in order and fairly color accurate (even down to the great red spot on Jupiter). Thank goodness for cheap “oops” paint at Home depot and lots of little left-over cans in the garage.
His closet has lots of stickers that glow in the dark also.
The white spots are glow in the dark paint.
Yes, we even painted the ceiling black and painted glow in the dark stars on it.
His name is over his window.

Isaac’s First Fish
Isaac had lot’s of plans for this week in which Daddy and he were both on vacation. Most important of all were camping and fishing. We were able to go fishing yesterday with Grandpa Karl and Isaac’s school buddy Justus. We went to Silverwood lake and to everyone’s delight, Isaac caught a small large mouth bass. He was so excited. It was the first fish he has ever caught.
Blessing in Disguise
Despite the high hopes this vacation has been slightly different then planned. The weekend started with Rebekah getting a cold. This caused some concern since our carpool family for going to school had two children hospitalized for possible swine flu and what turned into pneumonia. Next mommy got it and then Benjamin. Daddy is starting to get it so he is next. I really feel bad for Tori as today is her second day laid up in bed. I once read that a father should learn to be a parent and not a babysitter. Boy do I have a long way to go. So the blessing is that I am home to help take care of things. At least everyone is getting it this week and will be well for all the big plans next week.

Vacation!
Isaac has completed the first 7 weeks of First grade and is now on a two week vacation. Warren took off for one of the weeks so we can actually have some fun family time together =) Isaac has his vacation all planned out. First on the agenda was camping in the backyard. Next week he is planning on 5 days of fishing. We are going to aim for 3 days and hope that he catches a fish so we can cook it! We already have 2 play dates scheduled this first week too! Then next weekend is General Conference. Family doughnut time =) The following week is already filled too. Isaac is going to love this vacation!
Little Bunny Ben Ben Hopping Through the Forest.. (Updated)
Update, I apologize for the confusion on this photo. I zoomed in a little too far. The white thing in the dead center is Benjamin’s first tooth. Here is the whole photo. The kids have been singing the song in the title for weeks and Tori was being cute.
Our Little Ballerina
Thunderbolts
Isaac has begun his second soccer season. He is loving it. Especially since he will get to be goalie during one of the games. He was team captain the first game because he put forth so much effort in the practices. He loves to go outside and practice his drop kicks... I sure hope the ball doesn't go over our fence and into wash behind us. It is about a 12 foot drop.

Celia Has Arrived
We are at it again. This is the fourth time we have hosted exchange students (a total of eight). Her name is Celia and she is from France. She arrived Friday night and was luckier than several of the other students who didn’t get their luggage. We are very excited to have her with us and look forward to an exciting few weeks.
A few quick facts about here. Her family lives just outside of Paris. She is a pro at this as she has been a foreign exchange student to England and Spain before coming her to America. She is a perfect fit for our family. And best of all, her English is fantastic.

At least I didn't Cry!
Isaac started the first grade today! He even requested sleeping in his own room so we could set the alarm for him. He is very excited about his new school. This is happening very fast. I still want my baby at home. Instead he is 10 miles away! Warren and I are very proud of him and I know he will do just fine. While snapping pictures I kept myself from crying. Children grow up too fast!

June 19 (part b)
Isaac has ended Kindergarten. Wow. I can't believe my little boy is so old. We had lots of great plans for the long summer that were quickly cut in half! Isaac finished school at 12:11 pm and when we got he mail that evening around 5ish we found a letter from the Lewis Center in our mailbox., The Lewis Center is a place in Apple Valley the has a charter school which focuses on science. They have a huge telescope and work with NASA on projects. I placed Isaac and Rebekah on the waiting list almost 3 years ago. Isaac was number 120 something and Rebekah was number 48. well, they have been able to expand and now Isaac will get to go there for 1st grade. We were hoping for Junior High. While I am very excited about the opportunity for him to attend this great school, I am sad because his elementary school, West Palms, is a wonderful school. School starts August 3, so we have lost 4 weeks of fun, but we are gaining a 2 week fall break, a 3 vs. 2 week winter break and a 2 vs. 1 week spring break. Good Luck, Isaac!
June 19 (part a)
Benjamin officially is mobile! While on his back, he rolls to his left (towards his favorite thumb) and keeps going.
June 12
Well, not really. But we are very behind and this is the date we should have posted =)

Another One Bites the Dust
Isaac can’t believe he lost another tooth. Number 3 at 7:30 pm tonight. Mommy was flossing his tooth and it popped out and flew up in the air and landed on his lap.
Isaac immediately put up a note on his door telling us to stay out while he wrote a letter to the Tooth Fairy.
P.S. We are fully aware that we should already be saving for orthodontia work =)

Hold Your Horses
This boy is off to the races already. We laid Benjamin down on his back to play with his toys and walked away. A few minutes later we heard him calling us. We came back and this is what we found . . .
Why is baby #3 in such a hurry? Isn’t the last baby supposed to take his time because he is being spoiled?
By the way, he already weighs over 16 lbs and yesterday he giggled for Daddy. What’s next, the key to the fireplace? (see the David, Kiley, and Kids blog posting titled KA-BOOM)
